Australian Champion triathlete, Ellie Salthouse has officially joined the PILLAR Performance Team.

Salthouse has become one of the sport’s leading athletes over middle distance, after making the switch from ITU racing in 2016 where her career first began.

The Brisbane product has carved out a formidable collection of performances recently, notching 8 race wins from 9 starts in 2021 – her most successful individual season to date.

Salthouse has amassed 17 professional victories, along with 10 podium finishes dating back to her inaugural season at the 70.3 distance in 2016.

With the support of her coach, Siri Lindley, Salthouse has become one of the most consistent performers on the circuit – culminating in her selection in Team International at the Collins Cup in 2021.

Primarily based in the US – training out of Boulder, Colorado – Salthouse returns to Australia for a break across the Christmas period before building into her 2022 schedule across the globe.

Salthouse will officially work with PILLAR for all her micronutrient requirements, utilising the brand’s high-potency and batch tested products to fuel her performance under the guidance of the brand’s Performance Dietitian and former professional triathlete, Pip Taylor.

PILLAR Founder, Damien Fitzpatrick said it was exciting to welcome one of Australia’s most prominent triathletes to the brand.

“To support an Australian athlete of Ellie’s calibre on the PILLAR Team is something we’re really proud of,” Fitzpatrick said.

“Ellie aligns to our brand values, her dedication to her craft and commitment to high performance is something we’re excited to support.

“Ellie has had some fantastic results in recent seasons but what impressed me most is her continued desire to improve and ultimately become the best in the world.

“As a brand we’re really excited to join her on that journey, supporting Ellie through not just our micronutrition range but the expertise of Pip [Taylor] from a nutrition perspective.”

Salthouse said she was looking forward to working with the PILLAR Team ahead of 2022.

“I’ve been using PILLAR products for a few months now and have been feeling the benefits in my energy, recovery and overall performance,” Salthouse said.

“I’ve been able to connect with Pip [Taylor] and speak about performance nutrition. It’s been amazing to chat with someone who has her expertise, but also been in my position as an athlete – I’m really excited to be able to work with her.

“PILLAR is a brand doing some exciting things in micronutrition and endurance. I’m really proud to be supporting them. To be able to use products of this quality as a tested athlete is something I feel can help me perform at my best as I look ahead to 2022.”
